I haven't made anything good in a while. I finally locked myself in my room and forced myself to do something creative. It took about a week of adding and subtracting and leaving it for a day or so then coming back and scraping the whole thing and starting from scratch.
A couple of different influences for this one. Of course the obvious is Shakespear, and as usual the other is the music of Tool. So this would be my interpretation of A Midsummer Night's Dream told while listening to Tool.

awww.... shakespeare I was in this play "a midsummer's night dream" in middle school. at least if my memory serves me right thats the title. very beautiful
Very dreamy and nice. I like the flowers on the face and creepy eyes. The only thing that bugs me is the BRIGHT WHITE wings. Maybe soften the colors. Maybe add a bigger soft glow to him.

Ok I'm going to be anal more so. Erase the zipper on her sweater and seams inside the hood. That just ruins the fantasy theme. To see a zipper in there. And her hood is more blurred than his wings. They might be too sharp.

i can see the flourishing of the two influences within this piece. she looks like she's about to smoosh the little fairy in her hands. you ever seen that book of all the illustrated fairies that have been smashed between the pages of the book... it's great if you've never seen it. you should do an aftermath picture where she's like cooking the fairy on a spit or it's smooshed in her hand... dunno just a thought. good to see you submitting again mate!
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
